Plane wings are traditionally strong, very sturdy and thick however researchers at NASA and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a flexible wing that morphs as it flies. The wing measures 14 feet wide and is constructed from thousands of individual units that fit together and function in a similar to a condor that will lock its joints in while cruising, and then unlock its wing to maneuver.
