NASA’s Lockheed Martin-built Orion spacecraft, is built to take humans farther than they’ve ever gone before. The Orion spacecraft will venture thousands of miles beyond the moon during Exploration Mission-1, its first mission atop NASA’s Space Launch System rocket. Artemis 1 is a planned uncrewed test flight for NASA’s Artemis program that is the first integrated flight of the agency’s Orion MPCV and Space Launch System heavy-lift rocket. It is expected to launch in November 2021. The three-week flight around the moon will reach a maximum distance from Earth of 280,000 miles the farthest into space that any spacecraft that can transport humans will have ever flown. Source: NASA
